Music China 2018 Shanghai

Shanghai, China | 10–13 October 2018

Lien Violins participated in Music China 2018 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 10 to 13 October 2018. The four-day exhibition brought together musical instrument makers, brands, distributors, musicians, educators and industry professionals from around the world.

The 2018 edition welcomed 110,381 visitors from 81 countries and regions, together with 2,252 international and domestic exhibitors. Covering 138,000 square metres across 12 halls, it was the largest Music China held up to that time.

Presenting Lien Violins

At the Lien Violins booth, we presented a selection of bowed string instruments and welcomed musicians, customers and professional visitors to view and try them. These direct conversations allowed us to discuss tone, response, setup and the individual needs of different players.

For us, an exhibition is more than a product display. It is also an opportunity to communicate the craftsmanship, preparation and service behind each instrument, and to understand what musicians and partners value in different markets.

Music, Business and Education

Music China 2018 combined professional business exchange with live performances, educational programmes and opportunities for music appreciation. The energetic atmosphere across the exhibition halls reflected both the commercial development of the industry and the growing importance of music education.

Observing new products and market developments, while speaking with exhibitors and visitors from different regions, gave us valuable perspectives to bring back to our work in Taiwan.

People and Connections

One of the most meaningful parts of the exhibition was meeting musicians, makers, dealers and friends face to face. Every instrument trial and conversation created an opportunity to exchange experience, renew relationships and build new connections across the international musical instrument community.
